Overview
Chroma is a film-style camera app by Sousou Lab. The app is designed to process camera previews, photos, film effects, preferences, optional location metadata, and local capture history on your device.
This policy explains what Chroma uses, what it does not collect, and how you can remove local app data.
Information Chroma Processes
Camera previews and captured photos are processed locally so Chroma can provide live preview, capture photos, and apply film-style looks.
App preferences, shutter counts, film usage records, recent capture history, and favorite status may be stored locally on your device.
If you enable location metadata, Chroma may use your device location to write GPS metadata into captured photos. Location is optional and can be controlled in iOS Settings.
Face Data and Face Optimization
If you enable Face Optimization or use camera features that analyze people in the frame, Chroma may process face rectangles, facial landmark positions, and derived skin-region masks from camera previews or captured photos. Chroma does not identify who a person is, create face templates, create biometric identifiers, or perform face recognition.
Face data is used only to locate face and skin regions so the app can apply optional face optimization, including subtle smoothing and brightness adjustments, and to preview those adjustments on device.
Face data is processed on your device. It is not uploaded to Sousou Lab, shared with third parties, sold, or used for advertising, tracking, identity verification, or user profiling.
Face data used for optimization is temporary processing data retained only as long as needed to generate the preview or saved photo. Chroma does not separately store face rectangles, landmarks, skin masks, face templates, or biometric identifiers. Photos you choose to save may remain in Apple Photos until you delete them.
Permissions
Camera permission is used for live view and photo capture.
Photo Library permission is used to save photos and show recent photos, gallery items, and previews.
Location permission is used only when you choose to include location metadata in your photos.
Data Sharing
Chroma does not upload your photos, camera previews, location, device identifiers, usage history, or preferences to Sousou Lab or third-party servers in the current version.
Chroma does not include advertising tracking and does not sell personal data.
Deleting Data
Photos saved by Chroma can be deleted from the Apple Photos app.
Local Chroma preferences and history can be removed by deleting the app from your device.
Changes
Sousou Lab may update this Privacy Policy when Chroma changes or when legal, technical, or business requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when the policy changes.
